Photoshop Eye Colour Edit

On this photograph I changed the eye colour of the female. To do so I zoomed in on the eye area, and then selected the magnetic lasso tool. I highlighted the outline of the eye with the lasso tool and then clicked alt and highlighted the outline of the pupil. I then clicked on layer on the toolbar, then new adjustment layer and then clicked hue and saturation. I then ticked the colourize box and played around with the colours until I reached a colour I was satisfied with.
Photoshop Wrinkle Corrector
For this photograph I successfully took away the wrinkles on the females face. To do this I opened the picture in photoshop and selected the heal brush tool. I then held down the alt key whilst left clicking the mouse on a piece of skin that was near the area where the wrinkle needed to be removed. I then slowly kept clicking over the wrinkled area ontop of the wrinkle, slightly above and slightly below continuously changing the skin tone to keep it looking as natural as possible, I continued this all over the face until all of the wrinkles were removed.

Shutter Speed Photographs
Shutter speeds enable the camera to do lots of tricks with photgraphy. I can make people in photographs look blurred when walking so that it looks like they are running or freaky, it can make a photo of dripping water look like it is moving, it can make photos or writing on posters stand out off the page or look like it is moving and it can do crazy tricks such as make your name be written with a torch and caught in a single photograph. the possibilities are endless and it creates some amazing and weird photographs.
You would use a slow shutter speed for photographs such as using a torch to write your name, and you would use superfast shutter to photograph somebody caught in the air jumping for example. There are many shutter speeds to use to create different effects.
The two photographs above did not come out very good, they are bad photographs which we got. These were taken when playing with the shutter speeds and the lighting, the first photo was taken in a half lighted room, the torch writing did show up still despite this, and even showed slightly red tones due to the plastic on the torch, that photograph was taken on a shutter speed on 4". The second photo was taken on a shutter speed of 6" and in a slightly darker room, that seemed to produce a better photograph however we did not make a clear statement using the torch.
Afterwards, we moved to a completely dark room with no lighting, and changed the shutter speed to 8" which helped us to produce a lot better photographs as it gave the camera time to capture the message written with the torch and clearly display this.

Composition Photographs
Tilt Position;
This photograph is well composed, it is focused on the foreground which is the model and is direct looking into her eyes which creates depth, also her eyes are in the top third which makes her look powerful despite being looked down on. I zoomed in slightly using the camera which focuses the photograph more on the model as she fills the centre of the photograph, focusing and zooming the photograph to the model was easy to use. I think this is a strong photograph.
Long Distance Shot;
This photograph is again well composed as it is a great setting for the photograph as it shows the surrounding area but still focuses on the model. I zoomed slightly to get the photo in the correct position in the frame and so that the model was easily recognised as if it was too far away they would not be the main focus point of the photograph. I also fiddled with the focus lense to ensure the model was focused on and the background was slightly less sharp but still in focus, this was fairly straight forward and easy to do. I think the things I could do to improve this photograph would be to have the model stood exactly and precisely in the middle of the page on the dotted line so that our eyes followed the line to her.
Frame Shot;
This photograph is well composed as it is in a great setting and cleverly uses tree branches to frame the model. I zoomed slightly so that the whole trees were not in the photograph and so that we could just see the specific branches needed in the photograph to produce the frame. I also used the focus lense to focus it on the model despite her not being in the foreground of the photograph. To improve this photograph I could have taken the photo from a different position/angle to achieve a sharper frame.
Medium Shot;
This is a well composed photograph. I zoomed on the photograph to ensure the model filled almost all of the page and so that it could fit the right body proportions to ensure it was a medium shot. I focused on the model herself by using to focus lense on the camera and blurred the background so that the model was the focus and centre of the foreground. I dont think there is much I could do to improve this photograph as it is to a high standard.
Close-up Shot;
This photograph is similar to the one of which is a medium shot above, it was taken after the medium shot and I used the zoom lense on the camera to zoom in on the models face so that it was a close up shot. Again I fiddled with the focus lense on the camera to ensure the face was focused and the background was slightly blurred to focus on the model in the foreground.
Rule Of Thirds;
For this photo I used the rule of the thirds to create the style and theme of the photograph. I chose to have the model stand so her eyes were in the middle/bottom third of the photograph to lack her of authority and power and so that she just looked normal and innocent and not a big, strong, mean character, that seems to have worked with the photo. I focused the camera lense so that all of the photo was in focus as for rule of thirds sometimes the background is also important however the model stands in the foreground therefore she stands out more and looks sharper.

Magazine Front Cover
For this photo I used manual focus, I did this to ensure that I could focus on the person and make them stand out from the background. I took the photograph in portrait mode so that the photo would fill the whole background of the magazine cover and give it a more professional look. My images were in focus as I used manual focus to ensure this as I was afraid the images would not have the professional look I wanted or they may have come out wrong if I used manual focus. I did think carefully about the background for my images. I wanted them to be mostly bland and not of bright colour however I wanted to add a little bit of colour to bring personality to my cover. Next time I will choose a model who is willing to try a variety of poses and styles which will make the quality of my magazine look better and more professional.
On photoshop I used a variety of tools, first of all I enhanced the background changing the brightness, contrast, saturation, and curve levels to change the look of the photo and enhance certain colours. I also used the text tool to add text and headlines onto the cover and I used the magnetic lasso tool so that I could have the top of the models head over the masthead to give it a more professional look. I downloaded three fonts from www.dafonts.com to give my cover a creative, summery look to fit with the style and subject of the magazine. I downloaded a bold, eyecatching font called 'cityscape' to use on the masthead to attract readers attention, I then downloaded a font which I was to use for the majority of the subject headings etc called 'applewood' which looked sketchy, and lastly I downloaded a font which had a block background which would make certain things stand out from the rest. I used three main colours for my magazine, enough to give variety but not too over powerful. I used bright colours, pink, blue and yellow. Pink being a girly colour, blue being a manly colour and yellow being a controversial colour, to show the magazine isnt just for a certain gender. The strengths of my magazine are that it is bright, bold and eyecatching and fits in with the theme which is based around summer music, it would stand out from other music magazines on a shelf if it were sold, however what I would do to improve it would be to get a better photograph to use, I would make it look more bold, and summery and more appealing to the audience which is people male and female of mid age, a attractive female in summer wear and maybes sunglasses and some form of music software would be good to use as it would attract both sexes and would represent summer and music.
